The Essence of Baozhong
Competition Grade Wenshan Baozhong is the pinnacle of Baozhong oolongs—distinguished for its elegant appearance, exquisite aroma, and refined flavor profile. With light oxidation (8–12%), this tea is one of the purest expressions of oolong, offering a delicate balance of floral fragrance and sweet, lingering smoothness. Once wrapped in paper—giving rise to its name Baozhong, the “wrapped kind”—this tea has been cherished for centuries.
A Special Anniversary Selection
To celebrate our 5-year anniversary at My Tea Places, we are delighted to share this Competition Grade 2025 harvest from the Bai Family in Pinglin, Taiwan. Farmers quickly sell out of these competition-winning teas each year, so we feel truly honored to offer it in celebration of this milestone with our tea friends.
The Bai Family Legacy
The Bai Family has cultivated tea for five generations, preserving some of Taiwan’s finest tea treasures. Today, brothers Jacob and Sun continue the legacy, blending tradition with modern cultivation science under the guidance of their father. Their passion and craftsmanship have earned countless awards—so many, in fact, that their tea room walls can hardly hold them all.
What makes their story even more inspiring is their journey back to tea. Once dedicated to surfing in nearby Yilan, Jacob and Sun returned home when their parents’ health began to decline. With renewed purpose, they embraced the family’s heritage, ensuring the next generation of Baozhong would be both rooted in history and refined with precision.
